ABOUT US

BACKGROUND
Tierhoek, formerly a sheep and trout breeding and product farm was brought by the Crane Valley Trust in 1995. The Trust envisaged Tierhoek as a retreat for people wanting to build secluded holiday homes and to have place for shareholders and guests to enjoy.
At present, the estate boasts 4 trout stillwaters and 7 shareholders houses but we hope to get more investors to join the Tierhoek Shareholder List in the near future.
The name Tierhoek Trout & Nature Estate, along with the logo was born when current managers Matthew & Bronwyn Haden joined the team in February 2014.
The estate is currently undergoing a facelift and now includes a raptor rehabilitation project, a rehabilitated animal conservation project, an alien vegetation eradication project and a community education project with lots more exciting things in the pipeline for this small estate.
It is Matt & Bronwyn and the Crane Valley Trust's dream to turn Tierhoek into a quiet and ideal family retreat.
VISION
To be a pristine mountain retreat.
A nature conservancy where environmental best-practice is applied,
where the human footprint and human impact is minimised.
A private place where visitors will experience nature and the outdoors.
A place for rest and relaxation, where only activities such as fly fishing, mountain biking, birding and hiking take place.
A wildlife sanctuary which is distinct from and offers an alternative to, the typical fast paced, noisy, overpopulated and busy developments elsewhere in the Drakensberg
